What ways exist to keep the molars together during sleep?

So the obvious one is chewing a lot, whether it’s tough food and/or a jaw exerciser that you place between the molars. But personally I feel like there’s something wrong with my left TMJ so I’m scared to go that route and I also don’t want to make myself look more masculine.

Are there other options to keep the molars together during sleep? Taping the mouth only decreases a little bit of the dropping down of the lower jaw, it can still drop down quite far though.
