Front teeth tipping?

Hi,

I have been exercising correct tongue posture for about six months now (what I belive is correct posture shall be added). I have a slight over bite where my front teeth covers about 2/3 of my lower teeth. Lately I have been noticing what i belive is a slight forward tipping of my two upper central teeth. I'm careful not to push my teeth with my tongue when i swallow or during the day and it feels like I don't do it, but still there is tipping, why is that? Will it correct itself? Am I doing anything wrong?

im fairly sure this is a good sign! im assuming your teeth are tipped back so their tipping forward is natural

Has your intermolar increased?

People here regard teeth tipping is a bad sign. I used to as well. But what I have learned is if your mandible is small/chin weak, tipping front teeth only helps with protracting your mandible since the mandible becomes less entrapped by the incisors .

A narrow palate with proclined incisors on the other hand is what creates that bimax look with the weak profile. But the issue there isn't the incisors but rather the narrow intermolar width that entraps the mandible.

@eddiemoney i have a palate thats atleast 38mm but i have an overbite and my teeth are retroclined do you think just fixing the retroclined teeth would move my mandible forward?

Hard to say but probably not since the 40-50 range is ideal palate width for adults. Remember palatal expansion allows for more protraction of the mandible simply by way of letting the "small U" (lower jaw) slide forward inside a "bigger U".

When my palate width was 38mm my mandible still sat back a bit and was weak in profile. And actually my incisors used to be proclined and my profile was still weak prior to braces. This indicates that even my high 30s palate was still too narrow for ideal mandibular positioning. I would focus on more expansion before trying to procline the incisors IMO . Incisor proclination should probably be the last thing to focus on.

I think its my lower teeth that is making my upper teeth flare, they press on them when i close my jaw. It feels like my jaw is trapped behind my front teeth. I can still make my molars touch when i close my jaw, nothing wrong there but something new is that when imn trying to close my jaw in a relaxed state my upper and lower center teeth are the first ones to touch. I have to retract my jaw about 1 mm to get my normal occlusion where the inner molars touch.

what could be going on here? Before my molars fitted together perfectly despite a narrow palate and slight overbite. The feeling is different now, they fit but there is something that is slightly off.

@eddiemoney so around what intermolar width did u start to see the lower mandible line up with the upper jaw?

It hasn't yet but that is because I had extractions done on the lower jaw. I doubt it ever will

Well yes it moved like a mm or 2 but the teeth themselves will never line up properly due to missing two lower premolars. Also the incisors themselves have not proclined much if at all. Any mandible protraction I have had has been from palate expansion and not incisor tipping.
