No? Sometimes the tooth is dead or infected. You can get really sick keeping a tooth like that in your mouth.

No? Sometimes the tooth is dead or infected. You can get really sick keeping a tooth like that in your mouth.

I'm sure he meant that the unnecessary extraction of a tooth is criminal.

 

I agree with you in regards to infection. However, should one absolutely need to remove a tooth, the extraction site should be filled with an implant.

Implants can fail and Mew has also mentioned it's best to wait until expansion is done before placing any implant. His belief is it interferes with the expansion progress, though some here have claimed they experienced no issue. A space can also be filled with a partial flexible denture while expanding.
