Containment zone for darkindigo's numerous monologues.
hahaha!
@darkindigo you are amazing. Can I have a Skype chat with you?

I don't get it
Very interesting indigo. I wonder how the DNA appliance compares to Won Moons MSE when it comes to expansion. When he expands, how fast does he go? Whats the difference between fast expansion and slow expansion? What's better? Mike Mew says slow
I'm very interested in the face mask combined with the dna to pull the maxilla forward
I wonder how much he expands his patients, I think one of the reasons why people only look a little better after expansion and protraction is because they stop it too soon. It's like the doctors go "Okay we fixed you airway so now you can breathe a little better so we take it out, don't want you lookin too good"
I think if docs let there patients protract more we could all get incredible results and achieve really nice faces and the most optimal breathing
I moved my eyes around.
Okay, this is going to sound incredulous... but it happened. I happened on the Mew stuff and it truthfully kind of threw off my perfectly placed orthodontics that were just fine and I wanted to touch up slightly. I don't recommend it unless you're in bad shape. Now I need to go and figure out what steps to take. Previously, I could have just ignored it all, gotten a retainer (so as to not have my teeth cave to age in the approaching years) and been perfectly content. This stuff works, so you have to be extremely cautious.
This led to some curiousity about the soft palate and its effect on the face. Anyway, I have for several years had my left eye be squintier than my right. As I was feeling around with my tongue (& light pressures), I had found that the soft palate pressure was felt in my nose, whereas my upper jaw's nubs behind the last molars (where wisdom teeth were) caused a feeling a pressure in my eyes... I applied for about 7-8 minutes of light pressure on each and noticed some visual distortion/changes/sparkles almost. Anyway, DO NOT DO WHAT I DID. I had the next morning noticed my right eye was noticibly higher (way noticible than my left). There was also swelling here. I lamented that I had messed with my face and literally wish I'd not been such a curious person. Hahaha A few days passed, the swelling subsided, my right eye apparently came back down to a good position and very happily my left eye (which was mostly noticible as being smaller - especially in smiling photos) had actually evened out... Now my asymmetry is indistinguishable. I kid you not - this is from 1 time with light pressure. So, not recommended!!! Do not go messing with this stuff.
Yes that can happen for sure and I believe it's more common in those with TMD. One eye being squintier is possibly ptosis or astigmatism maybe. Mike Mew says bring the maxilla forward to resolve facial asymmetry in general iirc (though it'll do nothing for the aforementioned eye issues), which is what's worked for me, though it took a long time and I'd imagine a dental appliance that does this with face pulling like you're looking in to would be a big help here. That's a very long time to push like you did, for reference those of us here who thumb pull will do it for around a minute at a time and will stick to the hard palate area. Usually if we move the cranial bones in this way it does return to the usual position after a few days thankfully. Cranial sacral therapists are said to move cranial bones with light touch done for shorter amounts of time. I can feel my nasal bone move nearly every time I apply moisturizer which is light touching. Anyway thanks for sharing the info, very interesting especially the denture spray.
Remember this pain... and let it activate you.
I watched those videos already lol great info you have gathered. My problem with Dr Bill Hang is that his before and afters of surgery don't look that good. The patients faces are still not good enough, same flat cheekbones. For taking such a risk with surgery and only looking slightly better I'd say that is not good enough, if I'm going to get surgery I want my bloody maxilla far forward like a good looking person.
I'm contacting Dr Mark Luden of Kanata ontario, he uses won moons MSE and he also uses the vivos DNA appliance, I just hope that when I see him he will allow my to protract and widen my maxilla to where it would have been had I grown properly. If all a doc is going to do is just push it forward a little bit to open up the airway then that's not good enough for me, if we are going to do this we're going all the way lol I'm bringing mah shit faaaarr forward like I'm bloody Jordan Barret.
I honestly don't see any harm to just keep protracting. I'm looking at all these pictures and I'm just like "yeah that's a good result! Keep going, keep going" Because their faces are still flat! If they just kept pulling the maxilla forward they would look incredible! But for whatever reason some docs just want to fix the airway and don't care about looks. We all know looks=health.
The main objective for any ortho should be to make a good face or maintain it! Because a sexy face is healthy!

People doing mandible expansion
This is pretty cool too https://www.healthyandnaturalworld.com/how-to-regrow-teeth-in-your-mouth/
Jordan Barrett doesn't have a great maxilla tbh
darkinidigo i get your concern with mewing incorrectly i agree it can have some negative affects but so can excercise for strengthening other muscles in the body. if you mouth breathe, grind your teeth, or even just want to improve your looks there is nothing wron with learning how to swallow correctly and to fix posture
If you're reading this, I'm letting you know have a curve of the spee and it's quite severe.
I'm in a kinda similar situation. I tried to force my tongue on the incisive papilla, and after 3 days my nose became asymmetrical, because my incisive papilla wasn't centered in my face. Now i just say the "N" sound and hope to god that it's the right place, because i can't be bothered to deal with this shit anymore.
@darkindigo i thought you just said my plan looked fine? i dont understand whats wrong with it can you elaborate on whats making you want to vomit
What is the proper forward dentition?
@darkindigo thank you but im still a bit confused on what you mean? should i not go through with number 4? are you saying the curve of spee doesnt matter? it seemed like you think its dumb they would charge me to fix that correct? Is the curve of spee the line your teeth make? if so my left side i straight but right sides a bit like a rollercoaster up n down
im just confused i thought u were saying it was a bad idea
