Finally got a first attempt at an appliance done. Any lab would do better but I need an Ortho's approval. But this works surprisingly well and I can hold an immense amount of force with it. With the limit being skin pain on the palate after a while. I've tried thumb pulling and hard mewing, and this provides much higher forces. I have an actual newton meter coming soon.

What regiment would you guys recommend for a 28 year old male? My current plan is to use this as if I was thumb pulling. Using high intermittent forces ~5kg for an hour every 3 hours. Then thumb pull laterally. I don't know if I would commit to more then 8 hours a day. Also how would I measure forward progress?

Materials:

  • 2 mm x 200mm stainless steel (>2.5mm would be more robust.)
  • InstaMorph Reusable Moldable Plastic.
  • Clamp.
  • rubber band.
  • non toxic ear plugs for cushioning of the palate.

Just be careful not to hurt yourself or break a tooth if it dislodges from your pallet and flings forward!
