I looked all over amazon Canada and only find doses as high as 200mcg which is 0.2mg.. That's nothing, I'm looking for high doses like 30mg-40mg, where do I get the high dose k2 mk4?
i buy from here https://www.healthnatura.com/TrueK2-10mg-p/k210mg15.htm
yes it is expensive but it's the best value k2 i've seen. 6,450 mg per bottle
i also get their 5000 i.u d3. d3 and k2 are very important together. high levels of d3 can be dangerous without mk4. high levels of calcium are similarly dangerous without mk4 due to its nature of being absorbed by soft tissues but when you take mk4, you can take a lot more calcium and d3. I take my d3 and k2 topically because it has better bio-availability (effectiveness) than ingested. doesn't really matter where d3 is put since it lasts a long time so I put it on my wrists. I put k2 on my cheekbones, jaw, balls and at least a drop rubbed onto my gumline.
my routine atm is 50-60mg (5-6 drops) of mk4 spread throughout the day since mk4 halflife is very short (3-4hrs), I take 4 drops of d3 (20,000 u.i) at one time per day since its halflife lasts several days and for my calcium i boil 2 eggs, eat the insides and then crush the shells into a powder and consume that with a drink. for reference, the RDI of calcium is 1000-1300mg, a glass of milk has 125mg and an eggshell contains 2000mg of calcium so I take in at least 4000mg of calcium a day. this is fine though because the d3 and k2 protect my soft tissue from calcium and redirect it into my hard tissues. fyi an egg is made of out 40% calcium. you wanna ensure that when you eat calcium rich foods k2 is in your system so you get the most out of it
I have visually noticed my bones getting thicker/wider in my face, my teeth getting whiter and very minor cavities being repaired and my results from mewing increasing in speed due to the increase in bone production. have noticed other benefits from this vitamin combination like higher test, sex drive, less neurotic emotions etc

a video talking about how an african tribe consumes around 5000mg of calcium and they manage to do it because they get a lot of d3 from the sun and they get their k2 mk4 from eating grass feed meat and animal liver.
google d3 and k2 and you will find a lot of info about the synergistic properties of this duo
oh, magnesium is cool too and important for bone production but I think you can get an adequate amount from a standard diet. our western diet is pretty much devoid of k2 though which is tragic.

Wow, that's an amazing mk4 value, thanks for sharing. Do you just use a normal blender you use for smoothies to grind your egg shells?
most of the time I use a mortar and pestel. good tools in any kitchen! sometimes i'll just eat the egg shells as-is. it isn't as bad as sounds and your back teeth make quick work of them. just be sure to chew thoroughly so you don't swallow any jagged bits.
I've never tried making egg shell calcium, but another method I've heard of is pulverizing egg shells (first dried in an oven) using a spice or coffee grinder.
why dry them in an oven? other than being able to preserve them for future use ofc. easier to just eat them after boiling them imo

I think the method I saw recommended drying the shells in an oven after emptying them so that any residual moisture, membranes, etc. wouldn't gunk up the mechanism of your spice or coffee grinder, and so that any extra egg shell powder could be stored without spoiling. This is probably unnecessary if you are using a mortal and pestel and consuming the shell right away. I eat a lot of pasture-raised eggs, and every time I throw away the shells I feel like I should be using them for calcium. Maybe I'll get around to trying it soon.
@FutureModel K2 can be useful but dosing super high is counterproductive for bone remodeling. Decreases bone ‘loss’ i.e. osteoclast activity which is something you want to be high along with osteoblast activity in order to reshape bone over time.
WHOA!? High dose can be very dangerous for your heart. Is there a reason to go this high? I take K-2 (not sure which subtype) from SuperiorSource. It bough the lowest dose K-2 and even break it down to less than half a pill/day. Any more than that and I get muscle cramping & quick heart tensions. They have an MK-4 version... will have to check what I have. Why does it matter the subtype? Also, if you want to go wholistic, just get K-2 from grass fed dairy. It must be grass-fed. That's why we're all short on this stuff. I believe it helps to fight against autism... my own personal opinion where it puts the calcium where it's needed. Also, this as D2 grew my hair back.
Just to be clear... just because you get something from the health food store doesn't automatically mean it's what your body needs or that it's safe. Please look at the heart-related side effects! If I recall correctly, they include heart attack and death... I'd have to look it up again. Just, exercise some caution here & consult with your doctor, please.
Where are you getting your information about cardiac side effects? Is there any chance you are thinking of the electrolyte potassium (abbreviated K+), because hyperkalemia can cause palpitations, arrhythimas, muscle fatigue, etc.
My understanding is that vitamin K2 has a wide therapeutic window and is generally well tolerated even at high doses (except in those taking anticoagulates as high doses of vitamin K can overcome the antagonism of vitamin K dependent clotting factors). For example, Chris Masterjohn says "Long-term use of 45 mg per day of MK-4 has not revealed any established toxicity syndrome or risk of serious side effects. This is 225 times the dose I recommend. Nevertheless, the biochemistry of vitamin K suggests that unnecessarily high doses could rob the body of antioxidants or interfere with blood sugar regulation, insulin sensitivity, and hormonal health. The real question, though, is at what dose these potential side effects kick in. Since 45 mg per day has not shown any clear syndrome of toxicity and the dose I recommend is more than 200 times lower than this, I think we have a very large window of safety to work within. The potential for hypothetical side effects, however, should lead us to avoid supplementing with doses that are much larger than those that provide clear benefits." Where are you getting your information about cardiac side effects?
I read some reports on mk7 causing scary chest pain, not mk4
krollic, have you done kidney and liver tests? That sounds risky. Where do you buy your D3?

Magnesium is an important supplement with our work. It helps regulate D, K, and calcium. Zinc will further assist here and helps with mood along with magnesium. Transdermal administration of magnesium is an easy and cheap way to get your levels up. Too much D may be a concern as well, imo this stack at least needs more mag to balance it all out
Remember this pain... and let it activate you.
I've been taking MK-7 (extremely small dosing) and have noticed if I take a full pill (100 mcg)... then I can get issues. I have to break it down even futher so I'm taking roughtly a quarter size. I started this late November last year and a few weeks later I started D-2. And a couple weeks later I noticed new hair growth where I had widow's peak recession - hair doctor said I have irreversable, progressive hair loss. Hahahaha Who's laughing now? The new hair growth was pretty evident. I don't watch like a hawk, so by the time I noticed, I had hairs that were a good 3 inches long... It grows fast anyway, because I keep up the Rogain. Anyway, my hairdresser said I had new hairs all throughout when I went to get it cut. I wasn't paying attention to any hair except at my widow's peaks at that time, so that was cool for her to call out new growth throughout. I suspect the K-2... possibly the D-2. D-2 changed me forever. I was messed up without it for years... finally they did a D-2 / D-3 split test. My D-2 level was untraceable. Started on D-2 & kept with a portion of D-3. AMAZING results. No messed up brain issues with D-2. I won't go into too much detail, but it was good for me. Also, I am finding a really cool protocol for reducing brain inflammation... https://www.nemechekconsultativemedicine.com/blog/reversing-autism-2017/ The truth is out, regardless of the FDA trying to crack down on walnuts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZYVR4s5y0Y
I think I'll try the MK-4. Similar dosing?
You sure you got hair growth from MK-7? That seems quite anecdotal. Anti androgens such has finasteride and dutasteride seem to be most effective in stopping hair loss.

Bumping this post. krollic can you answer please?

I haven't done liver/kidney tests. MK4 is widely regarded to be safe even in extreme dosages, MK7 however is toxic. They are entirely different in their effects and dosages. I get my D3 from the same site. Is that what you were looking for?

Hi krollic, can you give me a reference to read about the toxicity of MK7? Logically, if MK4 is the active form of the vitamin which the body converts MK7 into, it seems like it would have a narrower therapeutic window than MK7. In other words, it seems like if you gave the body too much MK7 it would just down regulate the reactions that convert it into the active MK4. Maybe the MK7 form itself has other toxic effects if it accumulates to high levels, but I'm not familiar with them. For example, in Japanese studies using natto for megadosing K2 in osteoporosis treatment this would be the MK7 form of the vitamin.
krollic, can you update us how your K2 and D3 megadosing journey is coming alone?
Any health concerns?

Vitamin K2 is probably a pararthyroid regulator, nothing more. This is why some people see some bone thickening effects while others don't. The parathyroid gland releases parathyroid hormone, which regulates calcium supply in the bloodstream/ organs versus the bone.

Look up the superfood Natto. You can get it at your local Asian supermarket for super cheap. The Japanese eat it every day and it's absolutely jam-packed with Vitamin K2.
Warning: it doesn't smell all that great. But mix it with oatmeal and it becomes absolutely delicious.

Natto contains Mk7 (produced by bacteria) which might be what you want, as it has a longer half life and the body converts it to the active form Mk4 as needed. However, if you want Mk4 directly it only comes from animal sources in food (like pasture-raised eggs, butter, etc.) or synthetic supplements. It's probably a good idea to get a little of both types of vitamin K2. Although we've discussed in other threads that K2 seems to promote osteoblast activity, which might be good for growth and stabilization, but you might not want too much if you are in a phase when you need osteoclasts to break down bone to achieve changes.
@Apollo thanks for the clarification. I've been trying to get K2 for other health reasons (dental) but it makes sense that it would benefit mewing as well.

I want to update that I've been on K2 for about 1.5-2 months. I will keep using it for more months and increasing dosage. So far I have observed no changes at all.
